General FAQs

Why is my order not shipping right away?

Our jewelry is handmade by people, working Monday-Friday. Because we hand make each piece individually it takes time. We are working as quickly as we can to get your custom order out to you as soon as possible and still maintain the quality and beauty of handmade.

We also try to ship as quickly as we can, particularly around holidays, but note that it takes 5-10 days for completion of your order. During holidays (Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, etc.) shipping can take longer, up to 15 business days. We can not guarantee the speed USPS delivers your package.

Can I cancel or change my order?

You can cancel your order within the first three hours after purchasing it, as we try to put orders in our queue as quickly as possible. Please email us with your first and last name, order number, and what you would like to change or cancel.

Can you Stamp on the back of pieces?

We can not stamp on the back of any of our jewelry.

How does the hand stamping process affect my jewelry?

With hand stamped jewelry each piece is unique. We do our very best to make sure that everything is lined up as much as possible in the stamping process. Because of the stamping process the backs of discs, hearts, etc. will have a small mark on the backs.

Can I wear my jewelry all the time?

You can wear most of our jewelry every day ALL the time. You can swim in it, shower in it, sleep in it, exercise in it and just live in it. But swimming and showering in our jewelry will cause the pieces to lose some of their sparkle. You can NOT swim or shower in our lockets. Swimming or showering in them eliminates any returns or exchanges with the lockets even with defects.

How do I care for my GiGisPetals jewelry?

Both sterling silver and gold filled jewelry will tarnish less if stored appropriately – in something airtight – and kept clean and dry. Our sterling silver chains have been treated in order to slow the tarnishing process, but all sterling silver will eventually tarnish if left in the open and unworn. We have found that the more we wear our sterling silver jewelry, the less it tarnishes.

All sterling silver will come with an anti tarnish paper. All sterling silver and gold filled jewelry will come with a polishing cloth to help with the care of your jewelry purchased through GiGisPetals. Jewelry that tarnishes can easily be repolished and look as good as new.

What materials are used in my GiGisPetals jewelry?

Our chains, discs, hearts, bars, chain components (jump rings, lobster clasps), etc. are made with gold filled, sterling silver and rose gold filled materials, unless indicated otherwise. Our lockets are plated.

Gold filled and rose gold filled jewelry contains 100% more real gold than gold plated jewelry. Gold filled jewelry is made with a thick layer of real solid 14k gold. Gold filled jewelry has the advantage of being tarnish resistant and durable. It does not flake off, rub off or turn colors, and can easily be worn by people with sensitive skin.

Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver and considered a precious metal. The remaining 7.5% of the alloy is usually copper, adding strength while preserving the appearance of the pure silver. Sterling silver is also okay for most sensitive skin.
